Like most, my introduction to sewing began in high school with home economics. I did not take any particular interest until much later in my life when, mother of two small kids, we moved to a small town and I had to find something to keep me busy. I bought my first overlocker, and so started out sewing tracksuits for my girls. With lots of trial and error and practise I got better. The girls loved and wore everything I made until they hit their teens and you had to wear branded clothes if you wanted to be cool.
I continued making myself the odd garment or so, and as time went by and their stubbornness and brand conscious teenage phase passed, my sewn garments and articles became good enough again.
I have subsequently tried my hand at other crafts such a decoupage, t-shirt printing, revamping furniture and recycling used goods. Did I mention I was a hoarder? I keep everything, knowing that I can re-use or change it into something unique. This is evident in some of the products you’ll find featured on this site.
